Northern Farm Today

So I overslept, and did not make the Berge & Dale for a late 55km entry...

Decided to go to Northern Farm rather and had a proper blast in all the sand, mud and water all over the place! The section between the single track (entrance side of NF) and the highway was properly muddy and waterlogged. Sorry to the okes a little behind me who sounded like they got caught out, but I did not want to warn you guys, an spoil your fun! LOL

I came back dirty and gritty, but wearing a BIG SMILE Big%20smile It was a great 'come-back' ride after my little mishap during December!

To all those who are doing the Dirt Festival tomorrow: Remember you mud guards!

a) you come here and whip my ass first please (i prefer those leather whips)

b) I prefer long distance thingies

c) and IF you'd finish hours before me i'd still come to you afterwards when you sit there, crying over your dirty bike for hours so the mud is starting to dissolve slowly through your tears, you'd still be a sissy roadie girl!

ps: you need a cleaner and mechanic for the epic? Big%20smile

pps: stop bragging with your 'good performance - you worse than your flemish team mate LOL

Yea, I enjoyed my mud run this morning too, was great to cruise around solo. air was fresh, nothern farm toothpaste was tasty (as always), single track was very cob-web-y.

*rant on* One thing though that really started to annoy me towards the end was the large groups of riders who really showed very little consideration for other farm users. Riding 2 or more abreast and not keeping left for oncoming riders was pathetic, I mean, just how much space do you really need. not much fun getting pushed wide into the grass to avoid a collision when climbing a hill because 'the groups of obviosly very important riders' couldnt be bothered to follow the simple rules of the road and keep left. *rant off*

*Tag onto rant* I had the same on one of the dam walls. Two guys coming from the front, one in each of the tracks. I kept left (in the left hand track), but they just kept on coming, and not willing to make space, so I reclaimed the whole of the left hand track, so he had to get back into line.

I am not impressed by 'VIPs' either, they must get a life!

At the water crossing there were quite a few riders not knowing whether it was safe to proceed through the water.

Rather than telling them my 7 year old son, and a school friend of his thought that the water crossing was the coolest part of NF last Sunday afternoon, I rather just kept quiet and rode through the water, and out and away on the other side.

Have to admit that the water was flowing a little bit deeper and stronger than last week though.
