intern Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Joe Moer...hahahaha welcome to the hub, you're going to fit in well with the likes of Fandacious, TNT1 and colonel. Don't believe that 'fastest growing' crap - says who? Where's the research? And ask yourself how many times people have claimed that "X is the fastest growing sport in country Y'!
turtlek Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Have you seen the current interest rates dude all the importers are keeping thier options closed on so many lust items because they dont want to sit with dead stock trust me it will come in just not right now wait a few weeks and see how the oil price and dollar exchange goes and you will see them ease up if the prices ease up other than that just import it yourself!!!

Iwan Kemp Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 I think it'll be wise to wait a year or two. It's a grand idea, but it's not there yet. I would say next year or the year after will be the BIG year for the Hammerschmidt. You also have to take into account that suspension designs will not be optimised for the HS' chainline. Only a couple of manufacturers, Marin and Felt, have designed and tweaked suspensions around it. A lot of bikes does not pedal that well in the smallest chainring and chain growth will still be an issue. It's almost the same as replacing a shock on your bike that was tweaked and modified around your bike with a better or aftermarket upgrade. It might actually perform worse. I definitely want one...but I'll play the waiting game.
Tumbleweed Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 i like the idea of being able to shift without pedalling.
Zaskar Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Looks interesing... http://www.magicmechanics.com/
Tumbleweed Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 would the three who've voted crap like to elaborate?
Dirtbreath Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 I think I would look at Rohloff before I got one of these.
_BBi Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Let's just wait and see. I think it would find a nish (spelling?), but not for the mainstream in the near future.
TiBones Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 i like the idea of being able to shift without pedalling. So u can freewheel faster?

Tumbleweed Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Let's just wait and see. I think it would find a nish (spelling?)' date=' but not for the mainstream in the near future.[/quote'] niche I think I would look at Rohloff before I got one of these. combine the two i like the idea of being able to shift without pedalling. So u can freewheel faster? waiting for the invention that lets you freewheel uphill. michh, however, has a riding method that allows this. when she bought a bling set of hope hubs, she bragged and bragged about the noise they made freewheeling. i thought it was odd that she could freewheel uphilluntil i realised she'd been hanging on to the strap of my camelbak
Anthony Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 if only they could make one light enough for cross country, then we'd be getting somewhere...
DawieO Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Imagine one of these AND a Rohloff... Bliss.
