It's tedious but easy.

Locate the approximate location of the puncture and remove the base tape in that area. Now cut the stitching in that area and pull the tube out. Dont' pull the whole tube out, just the section. Locate the puncture and patch it. Now restitch that secton without putting the needle through the tube. Glue the base tape and replace the tubby.

Monday you go shopping for chinchers.

I've got a few sets of Clinchers for training, my tubbies are my racing wheels, only reason I was using them today was that was trying my new bike before my race

When you re-stitch, make sure the needle goes through the original holes and the stitching in the same direction or the tyre goes skew in that area of repair. also, small tip, use dental floss for thread, doesn't rot.

Cause I dopnt have stitching/glue so thats why!!!

and I am using my clinchers but why I am unkeen is this.

I have 4 sets of wheels

my best (easten tempest) now have puncture

my second best (shimano ultegra clinchers) dont have the right gearing

my 2nd worst (Bontrager select) is completely buckled

and im using my worst which I dont know what are called - come standard on a trek 100, have about 300 spokes and weigh a fortune...dunno hwo to change gears :(

How is the gearing different from your 2nd set vs the race wheels?

Just swap the casette - easiest solution.

For repairing the tubbie, if the hole is small, a lazy man's (expensive) way of fixing it would be to use Tufo sealant. Put 1/2 a tube into the tubbbie via the valve, inflate, and hope it works! The effectiveness of sealant / slime depends in the material of the tube in the tubbie. Some have got latex tubes (like Vittoria, I think), some butyl (Conti Gators).

Well its tough when you hanging off the back of a licenced group, you need all the help you can get!!!

and christie,  I have to use restricted gearing (U/16) and I have NO IDEA how to change cassetes

Sounds to me like you don't have enough wheels.

Come see me and I'll work out four or five additional combinations to get you over the worst conundrums. Obviously we can't cover all the bases but perhaps you can ask for the rest of the wheels for your birthday?

Haha. Johan, research has poven that for the average person, wit-detection only kicks in at about 17 or so...

My approach is not going to have any effect either, but here goes:

Capri, when I was an u/20, I rode to downhill races with my bike (slicks fitted), carrying a huge bag with footpump, DH tyres and body armour on my back. I'd then swop tyres underneath a tree, race, swop after and ride back home. I was top 5 in the province at that stage. And no, I'm not making this up...

Stop complaining and ride your bike.
