Tandem Rims

I have a friend in George who needs a new tandem rim. Does anyone know where he could find one locally, or if there's anyone who would be able to ship it to him? AFAIK it's a 700c, 40 hole rim, but will confirm this.

40-spoke rims are available in the DRC, Mavic and Velocity brands that I know of.

 

However, unless he's building a new wheel he doesn't have the luxury of just buying a rim. Replacing a rim requires exactly the same brand and model otherwise your spokes won't be the right length.

 

It would be more helpful for all parties concerned if you asked for a specific rim.

My old man is the one in question. I am not to sure what he has but I am going to ask him to register and come add info onto this thread with regards to the problem.

 

Maybe you will be able to answer more of the questions he has than I will. The question of parts and getting this wheel built up before the World Funride Champs in a couple weeks time is the problem...and not having the hoop go all wobbly on them which has happened before.
