Its a Joke.

I applied early Jan, my club verified it a week or so later, whilst I was away this week I recieved a garbled e-mail about BLANK SPACES and I need to add some particulars - WTF.!!!!!

This is almost 60 days later.!!!!!

Sent a reply to the Support @ etc - still waiting for a reply.

Stuff it, I could care less, typical SA operation, take your money and deliver no service.

Then have the audacity to expect no body must complain or utter a word.!

This is not an attempt to discredit any person, organisation or service provider. My news letter received from CSA and my response to it.

Dear andre engelbrecht,

More than 7500 applications for membership have been received so far for the 2009 calendar year, with 6000 cards already distributed ? approximately 3000 of those in the last two weeks.

?We?ve now worked through the high-load summer holiday application rush and continue to fine-tune the system where necessary,? said Justin Dowdle, Director of MyRace (www.myrace.co.za). ?Education continues and more and more cyclists are changing their mindset [not me] and putting their trust in the system [count me out on this one too]. [Justin I have no trust in your system. How can you trust an electronic system that takes 2 months to process an application while the manual system took a week?]  We are still educating clubs too and encourage cyclists to implore their clubs to become familiar with the system, which really is efficient, professional, user-friendly and trustworthy.? [Clubs do not need educating as we do the bulk of our clubs members license applications as your system freezes etc, etc, etc. You get tired of the little bicycle block running over the screen while the system cannot cope with overload. The system is not efficient it takes five minutes to find your club. How about a search box to find your club? The system is neither professional nor user friendly. You cannot undo anything you have wrongly selected and when you request My Race to delete the entry you promise but do not deliver. Phone MyRace with any questions and it is sorry Justin is the only one that can help you phone him after the weekend for assistance. You then phone and get promise xyz will happen and weeks later nothing has happened. Reply dated 17 February 2009 on a question to the COO is attached.

?Both your managers licenses were approved, which means those cards are also in transit, stolen or never pruinted. I bet it is the latter. Will follow up.

I have now confirmed Colette's application _ I have no idea why our office did not do it, but they might "blame" it on the workload, or it might be a simple oversight.
________________________________

I am going to immediately order Andr? another card, and do believe that his card will be oprinted this week still and be sent to your province/club.

Please note I am copying Sylvia and Retief.

Stay well and best wishes to Andre.

Carinus?

New members using the online application system at www.cyclingsa.com get their membership card (licence) in credit-card form, packaged in a stylised envelope with a welcome letter. Why do we only receive license cards and with no envelope or welcome letter? An improvement over the previous manually produced easy-to-duplicate cards and another element of CSA?s drive to offer best-of-class service. Do you call not being able to produce a simple card which was paid for on application within a period of two months best of class service?

?It should take on average two weeks [two months, two and a half months?] from the time the application is made until the card is delivered by courier to the provincial association of the applicant. It?s then up to the clubs to ensure the membership cards reach their members,? explained Dowdle. This we do but you should deliver on your promises. You do not know what a nightmare you have created saddling the clubs with this inefficient system and way of dealing with licenses. We get screamed and sworn at for you inability to produce. After all it is a transaction between the rider and CSA/MyRace. The clubs and provinces are the unfortunate parties doing CSA?s jobs at the club?s expenses.

Your CyclingSA membership below reflects your 2009 status, If your Status is blank you will need to complete your registration and submit some cycling specific details:

To become a registered CSA member, click here.

What are the different licence types? click here.

Licence Type: Cyclo Sport Licence Licence number: 5810 Status: Confirmed O boy payed for it on 30 December 2008 and still waiting after many promises. Perhaps you should keep the card and refund me including bank costs and interest.

Maybe you guys should admit you have problems and fix it a.s.a.p. or resign as this is clearly not working. If this was a business that served its clients in this way they will be out of business in a flash. I suppose monopolies survive with this kind of client service.

If you feel I have done an injustice to you with this posting please accept my apologies.

Carinus your allegation is besides the point at this stage.

What is relevent is that I did pay and apply for my license on 30 December 2008 and to date after numerous promises did not receive my license. This is 2 months overdue. So bottom line is did you meet your promise to deliver exceptional service as you claim you do. No Sir I do not think you did.

Mr. Muller/Mulder? good for you. Mine is still outstanding together with a lot of other people.

Even with the 10 temps hired there is still a need to discuss this topic.

No Sir, I did not meet all my promises. I will send you a card (in person) tomorrow - the system that we introduced two years ago is - for many certain and uncertain reasons, failing us.

We are taking extreme steps to remedy the situation asap - including taking legal steps -not that that is any consolation for anyone still waiting, which I personally regret.

Once we deliver everyone's cards, I will return to you and your ilk. Oh, please send the new road commissioner all the files you retained after your hasty retreat - and accept my apologies for posting the request here - seems as if my emails failed to find you.

So then what happens if, like me, you applied and paid for your licence 3 MONTHS AGO and a month later you receive the email to say that it has FINALLY been processed, and then your name doesnt appear on that cute little list that they published on the CSA website with all of the dispatched licences. How much longer do I have to wait. And, like someone mentioned earlier on, what do I tell them when they ask for my licence at registration for a race. Or what if I get selected for a drug test and cant produce a valid licence like you are expected to? Who do I refer the kind people to??????

I am actually confused at how my license got to me a month before other people who ordered thiers way before mine was even thought of.... it does not seem logical at all!!!!

carinus not taking a dig at you just a simple question regarding the quality of our license cards,

in the local football society (which fair enough is bigger than our cycling community) how can they be given a credit card type card that gets printed within a few seconds with a colour photo of the person that is registered when all we get is a piece of paper with writing on both sides and a photocopied picture that looks like the dogs breakfast

Is it a UCI thing or is a Csa thing that we have cards of this quality???

not being funny it actually is a poor show and not very professional in my opinion rocking up at a race with a card that doesnt fit nicely into your wallet and gets bent very easily!!!

Hi Sydd

By 0800 tomorrow morning all support queries will be handled and sorted - did you get a newsletter and did you send a message to support@cyclingsa.com?

Can and will help - it has been bumped up to me so sort each one out individually, and I can assure you, we are doing just that - we have gained a lot of momentum the last week or two, and will not desist from performing.

Did you know that each organiser gets a snapshot of the whole databse every week, as it applied to them, and that they have been mean tot use this data - for years - to check people's validity, in the vent of a no-card?

Was anyone accosted for a card at Boschendal this week, anyone for Argus last year? If organisers and officals, as well as provinces, assist, like most do, then your very attempt at an application will suffice.

For drug testing - incidentally, it is interesting to note that you have to carry any other legal formof ID with you, as per the UCI, and I am quite certain we all wonder why - it is because a large number of amateur athletes all over the word use fake membership cards, including here at home. (I was told that people in our country know just how to make their own cards, and that some administrators in sport actually also know?)

Fact remains, we are failing you, so please write to our support desk now.
