great to hear the reports on the bike. Why did you change to Sram RD - see lots of guys are doing this - new "thing of the month" or whats the reasons

Grip shift is lighter - thats about it, O and easier to service

he proberbly wanted gripshifts and the only way to do this is to change the rear derailleur. But you can get gripshifts that works with Shimano.

Once you have tried gripshifts you would love it.

I prefer SRAM over the Shimano's as the shifting is smoother in my opinion. SRAM triggers are also very nice though but it purely a preference thing

And they are lighter Wink

.......Once you have taking your bike thru the mud at Sabie you can only have SRAM RD it changes thru anything.....Gripshift is heaps better, my opinion less working parts on a MTB the better....i was always cleaning or fixing something on the triggers...... Enjoy your new Bike

Hey Astana, I am in the market for a 2nd hand mtb. Winter training on the road is torture. Would you sell your mtb to a poor currently disadvantaged???

Hey Astana, Congrats on ur new purchase. Im sure u gonna absolutely love it. I did my first race on Sunday with the TFS 900, and it never skipped a beat. That XT is rock solid.

phillip maree, I agree with u 100% on that saddle. I personally think its a disgrace. I mean you paying good money for the bike, but that saddle is basically a piece of plastic with a cloth covering. I put a specialized on and so far so good. Cant understand how they can manufacture such k@k
