Harryn Posted March 22, 2009 Share My LBS tells me that the rear rim of my Bontrager wheel is cracked - they are having difficulty getting a new rim. Is there anybody who can help me either repair the rim (or advise as to whether that is ever do-able), or preferably sell me a new one - or maybe a new wheel/ wheels? As you see, i aint very technically minded, but I am sick of the bike languishing at the LBS ; its been there for a week. Any help in any form would be appreciated. I think it is time to find a similar rim with the same dimensions so we can all replace it without having to put new spokes in, and go ride. I don't like the paired spoke design either. It puts undue stress on just one place on the rim instead of distributing it evenly along the rim. It's a foohfee there just for novelty value. This novelty backfired.
