You'll hear many different opinions. Mine is "no".

 

 

 

I'll justify: I think those spokes are ridiculous. They are obviously not aero. A pair of deep sections are much better suited to the type of cycling we do in SA.

 

 

 

I think the only type of race in which these wheels might have an advantage is a hillclimb of 10% gradient or more. And even then it's debatable.

 

 

 

Also, think of what the cost will be if you break a spoke in a few years time?

So a brand new pair of Ksyrium SL would be a better idea than a second hand pair of R Sys?

 

 

 

 

A brand new set of easton EA90sl will be ten times better just because you wont have issues with spokes and nipples binding and they are easy to replace if you break one

I was also looking at these wheels, ave price is about R10k.

 

I instead bought myself a pair of Easton EA90 Aero alu clinchers.

 

Weight wise there is 200g difference, but I paid R4.5k for the Eastons, and they are bullet proof wheels, so I am happy.
