Mother Goose Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I currently run Mountain King 2.4's on my bike and LOVE them. Problem is I have been ripping sidewalls on a regular basis. My local bike shop reacons I should upgrade to the UST (!?!) version of the same tire. The thing costs 3 times as much as the ones I am using!! (R680....) Are they really that much stronger?? Can anyone recomend a strong high grip type tyre for all mountain/freeride style riding that won't leave me broken down at the side of the trail on a regular basis!
Justin Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I've been riding on my kenda tyres that came with my el-cheapo bike now for a year. No sidewall issues as yet after plenty of races! Touch wood!

Mother Goose Posted April 1, 2009 Author Posted April 1, 2009 My bike also came with a set of Kenda Komodos and they did last longer but just don't offer the levels of grip and confidance that I get from the Conti MK's. A flat I can deal with.....a ripped sidewall 25km from where I parked my car is a bit of an issue!!!
