HI All

Does anyone know if you can use a XT cluster with Sram componets. I have an Giant Alias and with all Sram, and I want to get new wheels with a XT cluster so I can use it on both my bikes the Anthem and the Alias.

Is this possible or should I change a chain etc on the Alias?

I'm sure it will work. I had a cheaper Sram cluster with a XT cassette and it worked 100% so I don't see why it won't work the other way around.

Thanks for the reply...but I am still confused...

Maybe I used the wrong terminology....:-)

I want to have 2 sets of wheels both containing XT Clusters(or do you call it cassette?) and I want to use those wheels on a bike (Alias with full Sram X7) and on a Anthem(Full XT)

ps what is the difference between the cluster and the cassette

It will be fine.

I also had an Alias before upgrading to Trance and Anthem.

Replaced the rear with an XT cassette - no problem at all.

Only things that needs to be the same is shifters and deraillers - chain, cassette, crank, all interchangeable given same speed (7, 8 or 9)

Can agree with the others, have been using Shimano cassettes of varying level (Deore, LX, XT) on SRAM equiped bikes for a long time with no problem.

Like BigBen said - works a charm. Can even use an XT chain and cluster with SRAM d?railleur.
