SRAM rear derailer

rubbish.

you can x.9 on any SRAM rear derailleur.

the only thing youhave to watchout for is the fact that the SRAM pulleys are 1mm wider than the KCNC so you have shim the KCNC pulleys to ensure that the chain does not rub the jockey cage when cross chaining.

Shims are the same as those used for disc brakes' date=' 4x0.5mm is needed for the two pulley wheels.

so you have 0.5mm shim / Kcnc Pulley wheel / 0.5mm shim

same for the bottom wheel

Beg your pardon? Sorry but perhaps I was not clear I was saying it is not possible to use X0 or any other 'standard' pulley wheels on an X9 RD for the upper one anyway ........

You can fit any std pulley to an X.9.

the pulley will run in a different position and you will have to adjust the  derailleur position. I've done this.

Can't say that it was worth the effort but it can be done.

Just go for the "real" thing.

After I thought I should stay out of this smiley5.gif I still find myself wanting to say BBB.

Try their pulley wheels (they come with spacers)

So after a visit to Summit Cycles today I must retract my statement as they showed me that they put BBB (at least I think it was ...) and also KCNC pulley wheels on an X9 upper. Seemingly when using the BBB types you need to file that extra guide down only slightly but with the KCNC ones nothing needs to be done!

So for sure my replacement pulley wheels will not be SRAM!

Sorry I doubted you Boris, you are the man!

OK so tonight I done it ...... first tried some BBB wheels without filing that 'extra'bit down but then the wheel fouled against it and was tight.

Filed them down and then fitted the wheels, honderd bedonerd now! Half the price of those fancy X9 ones!
