PappaBear Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I know the pricing of the above mentioned sets will vary a lot, but that as part of the answer (value for money), what would you guys suggest? I have been informed that my current blades are to worn for a new chain, so I'm thinking rather replacing the blades, upgrade the crankset..... Anyone has pricing for the FSA parts? My LBS doesn't stock them......
Jules Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Do yourself a favour and get the shimano. I have had endless crap with truvativ. You're not just paying for the name. Shimano is truly the best design out there. You'll also be grateful when you have to replace your bb in a few years time, because there is bound to be better choice than truvativ and fsa. I've just bought an slx off chain reaction. 1250 before vat. Otherwise try Solomons.
intern Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 SLX or XT a very good choice at reasonable price. XTR very expensive and just wait til you wear those blades out!
Mackie Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 FSA, you can change the bearings only in the BB will cost around R80, but better availibility on the SLX and they look just as good as the XTR for a fraction of the price! Shimano have really hit the nail on the head with replacing LX with awesome looking SLX!
