Uhhhhm' date=' I think I am going to quote myself here from the "Underwear and cycleshorts" thread:

If you wear undies, also make sure that:<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><?: PREFIX = O />

ON YOUR ROADBIKE YOU:

Wear your Camelbak

Fasten your helmet straps over you glasses

Put SPD?s on your roadbike

Wear sleeveless shirts (even better with armwarmers)

A peak on your helmet makes you look VERY cool

ON YOUR MTB:

Wear white booties

A skinsuit is all the rage

White kit is a must (it accentuates the VPL nicely)

?and remember style is all about attitude!

Guest Agteros

Just remember to be VERY VERY careful when embarking on this whole MTB thing....

MTB'ers are the most pretentious bunch of posers of all the cyclist out there (road, dirt, track)

Eg: Track cycling is just too glad if you want to join up... They will even make special arrangements for people to use their road cycles for training. H3LL they even have track bikes you can borrow at some of the tracks!

Road Cycling: They don't care about the look of things, the more garish and clashing the colour combos the better (at least the taxis should see them), Yellow booties? who cares! As long as their feet aren't freezing!

But MTBers.... they have all these rules to be a MTBer(some posted below):

You are NOT allowed bar ends on riser bars

You are NOT allowed yellow booties

You are NOT allowed to shave your legs

You are NOT allowed to wear lycra shorts

And the list goes on... these are just the few I can remember!

All these rules indicate just one thing: MASSIVE insecurities!!!

MTB'ers are insecure by nature, that is why they do not want to share the road with other vehicles. Roadies are the real heroes for taking on taxis, grannies, buses, trucks....

Oooh, that's soooo anarchic! You go for it oyu little devil you ;)

Those bar ends should go really well with your shaved legs, lycra shorts/bib, aero style roady helmet (Giro) and your 3 gassies mounted to the bottle cage.LOL

Here are a couple of reasons why you SHOULDNT have bar ends on your risers:

1) The angle of the riser bars is not straight like XC flat bars. Typically riser bars angle upward and inward. By putting bar ends onto your risers' date=' you end up with bar ends sticking outwards like great big hooks to hook onto branches and newbies. Normally, riser bars are left wide. Usually, the are around 650mm and

upwards. This, believe it or not, provides extra leverage when

cornering in technical terrain, as well as extra balance when doing

nice big airs and drop-offs. Add to this now your purple bar ends

sticking out at an angle, and you might end up with needing to cut the

trails wider, or even build bridges that are 3 meters wide so you and

your bars can get through. This brings me to my second point...
