nicd Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Hey Guys and Gals, We spent three days during the qualifying and racing at the World cup, walked every inch of each of the three diciplines routes and emergency/support ways, at least once, without once coming across this site. The photographer obviously went out of his way to take this. I also (obviously) get de-XXX in with this, but it doesn't reflect the effort of the organisors and beauty of the surroundings in which Sauser rode. Bad taste, I could've given him 500 better to chose from.

I'm glad he posted it coz you can't hide the truth. South Africa does indeed have vast tracts of spoilt wilderness.
nathrix Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 I doubt this was at the WC event itself. The photo could have been taken somewhere in Pietermaritzburg or not. The point is; dumping is rife in South Africa and we should do something about it.

If he hadn't done it, nobody would notice and it will get worse. I don't think he posted the pic to shame our country. I think he did it so some people can take notice of it and do something about it before it gets out of hand. Was walking behind him at the end of Day 2's happenings. He tossed an empty bottle at a garbage bin, it deflects off the top like a basketball hoop. For a second he considers picking it up, but just carries on walking. A ****, if ever I have seen one.

I'm just stating the fact that dumping stinks and we should name and shame them. Don't hide it! Catch dumpsters in all forms of the act on camera and mail the pics. If anoyone in future forget this threads name to get the blog name and amail address, just type in 'dump' on the forum search box, hit GO and you've got it!

With a heading "Pietermaritzburg World Cup" he is not naming or shaming anyone but Pietermaritzburg and the World Cup organizers. Come on you have to agree that it is uncalled for...
