TREK Fuel 70 - Opinions?

Any comments on the performance of this bike? The rear shock cannot lock-out as far as I can see (ROCKSHOX DART). I think it is a 2006/7 model.

I rode one for a while, great XC frame. It climbs well enough that you shouldn't need a rear lockout.

 

 

 

I wouldn't recommend it for aggressive riding though, mine developed a crack in the rear triangle at the BB end of the chainstay.

what will you be spending? Theres mongoose, silverback and even perhaps Raleigh with new prices(drop) which might get you a bit better spec at entry level. you could better the Dart fork for a Tora at least as the darts are not great.

Price would be ?R7,000 second hand, but in mint condition. Also, I wouldn't be doing aggresive trail riding but rather jeep tracks with some single track included - no serious drops and jumps.

Ok, Well then you should be fine. I was talking more Heavy trailriding etc..

 

R7000 is good price for anything half desent these days.

Thanks for the info - this model came with a Manitou fork (not sure about the model). However, I was devided between a full suspension and hardtail bike and decided to go for the hardtail option (DEMO Jamis Dakota Sport).
