Think wobbles might have spent his time explaining to his club mambers why they should be paying his club fees and not joining Club Roag for free....... Karkloof was R150, was that better value for money than the club fees? Just a thought, use it, don't....

Hi Chaps (and gals).  Firstly, thank you all for your positive feedback RE our registration at Karkloof and the ROAG system.  As an organiser at Karkloof and a ROAG founding member, it is great to see the system working for mountain biking.  We always knew that it woudl be an education process as people would naturally be against change and new systems, but I think that we have proved that the system has value and works.  The test for us is to now maintain the high standard that we set at Karkloof going into the races to come, in particular the FOX Greytown MTB Festival this weekend.  Once again, thank you all for your comments on behalf of the event and all at ROAG, and we hope that you will continue to engage in conversation over the system, our events and anything else that will help us to make your experience as the rider that much better.

All results can bee seen via our website www.karkloofclassic.co.za, and it is a great results setup provided live by Mr Price..thanks to Graham Daniel, Lyle Purchase and Craig Aldridge, they have a great system.  If you haven't seen the results setup, take a look, it's the best format in SA and is live (ie as you come over the line your provisional time and result go up).  You get to compare with pretty much whatever you want....you can view specific categories, even see what position you came amongst your own club members.

With respect to batching, it will all depend on the number of pre-entries, but at this stage it looks like it will be one start, as the course is open and free at the start before hitting any single track.

Hi Stu

Met you last night at the KZN cycling meeting. Hope we can look into possibilities to incorporate your system with road racing as well. Job well done.

Looking forward to the Greytown race this weekend (Luckily no KZN - champs at the same timeDisapprove)

Apologies.  Sprint event was won by Burry, with Craig Paul and Philip Buys in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.  In terms of the ROAG system developing further, watch this space.....we have some great plans and ideas for the system going forward in the next 12 months, and are hoping that we certainly can breach the triathlon, multisport, road cycling and swimming markets.

Fantastic Single track, the best ever.Bridges were awesome, need a few more over the marshes at the back of lebanon. Roag was great , lets hope this systems stays for a few seasons. The whole weekend was a great testiment to all the organisers involved. My only critisizm would be for the 10km kiddies race.

1. When your kidds bicycle has 10" wheels and no gears cut Veld is very hard to cycle over

2.Please give the kids a medal or something for their achievements,Recognition means the world to these small kids and they are always so proud to show their friends and teachers at school.

Well done to Roag and all the other organizers for a fantastic week end.

i will be back in a few weeks to ride the single track again with a fresh body and mind

I did the 10km ride with my 9 year old nephew. Have to agree about the cut veld being hard. He complained bitterly about the section just after the waterpoint. He even stopped and told me that there was something wrong with his bike as he couldn't pedal. LOL

My nephew was so pleased with his goodie bag that he got when he finished. He didn't miss the medal at all but this was also his first race ever. I never got a goodie bag CryWink

The ROAG organizing was very impressive. No queues whatsoever for us and our results were delivered via sms within 10 minutes of us finishing. Well done. Clap

TongueAwesome, Awesome......

Roag was spot on and everything just fell into place. When we got there i had to change my daughters race from the 20km to the 10km, and it was done with no fuss or issues, went straight to the race office and it was done within a few seconds.....

Keep up the good work roag..........
