I'd also be interested to find this out. Don't think my current apply-back-brakes-and-try-balance-the-bike-on-the-bathroom-scale is too accurate? :)

Have a big digital scale at work and a digital fishing scale at home.

The fishing one is relatively inexpensive.

Stand on scale wihout bike and write down weight (A). Then stand on scale holding bike and write down weight (B) Subtract A from B and you get the weight of your bike.....

I recently bought a Scott Spark 40; stock standards weighs in at 12.6 kg (Large frame). I only paid R18k for it.

You can get the Scott Spark 35 (carbon frame) for around R24k. Should weigh much less.

At 23k-28k you can get the new Marida 96 dual sus...I herd that it is extreamly light!!! They said of their web page that it is the lighttest production frame at the moment ( not sure if it is true?)

But Picked one up a few days a ago and it seemed lighter then my Santa C superlight smiley13.gif

Been many complaints on the hub of the weight of the 96, apparently the frame alone is 500g heavier than an anthem.

how do you guys manage to weigh your bikes so accurately? My bikes pretty heavy and I wondered how much, but never got so far as to actually find a way to weigh it?

I bought a digital luggage scale, made a inverted V harnas to attache to it, mounted the scale on my garage beams, so if i want to weigh simply switch on the scale and attach.

Going to weigh my bike today, not sure but would put it between 13 and 16kg. Scott Genius

Scott generally makes very lightweight bikes even their "lower" range bikes are light have you checked their site, I havent been on a the scott site in years but if i remember they did specify the stock weights.
