A Mavic freehub body spacer (between bearing and freehub body) went AWOL and I need to replace it. However, it costs R125 for a new one. I refuse.

Can anyone do me a favour and measure one for me please? I'll then get or make an equivalent.  I know it's a schlepp since you'll have to take off your freewheel (dont drop the washer).

Johan, i received those Mavic freehub bushings this weekend. I can bring the wheel to you and then can have a look at whatever you need.

Thanks that's kind of you, it'll be useful to have a look at those bushings as well. I'll contact you and Dritbreath offline.

Hi Johan.

The price you were quoted from the local mavic guys is for a pack of 10 spacers. They aren't R120 each. I believe you can order 1 if needed.

Thanks, this makes sense.
Anyone want to buy 9 spacers?

From what I witnessed yesterday, the cost should not be R120 for 10. Not even for a 100. Maybe for a 1000. Thanks again for your help Johan.

Now I'm intrigued. What do these things look like?

Don't hold your breath Edman...it's a simple washer. 8mm ID, 1mm thick.

Here it is....

And the R125 doesn't include the pen.

That's an expensive washer!

I think I've got one of those.  I got a Mavic freehub along with a cassette I bought. There's a washer that's stuck to the inside of the bearing with grease. Give a shout if you want it (although I presume you can get by with a normal washer).

Thanks Edman, got sorted for R1-00

Ghostface, we noted the fact that the pack contains 10. Thanks for the info, but there is no fun without some melodrama. After all, the invoice did say "spacer" - singular and I rejected it based on that.

Still a far cry from R1-00.
