Sorry but having some difficulty understanding the exact problem...

Which way (sideways or up n down) and how much does it move?

If you lift the front of the bike off the ground, hold the bars with one hand and grab the wheel and try move it, can you feel any movement and if so in which direction.

What type of hub does the wheel have?

Just a couple questions,  is the fork 100% stable leg wise? (grasping with this question).

Considering the most obvious cause being a lose or faulty hub seems to be dispelled with the sideways play test that SwissVan queried. It really seems to be an odd problem. Also a disc brake system should force in any particular direction as the rotor is mounted to the hub. The only play it could work with is play in the hub. Further more a rotor would bend more than a wheel would if the brake allignment was off.

You have a strange problem on your hands I would say.

had exactly the same thing last week - took it to the bike shop and they sorted it out - something about tightening cones or some such.

Edit to fix spelling - dammit - seems to be getting worse.

Reckon if its side to side play then either..

The cones are loose, or if no cones, then locknut on axle...

Or wheel has been tightened slightly off center on the fork dropouts... tightening against the 'lawyer tabs'?

My 25 million Zim dollars worth... Hope it helps..

What bike shop did you take it to?

Did I get your repsonse to SwissVan's query wrong,do you feel any play on the wheel, up down or sideways? Only if you have play will tightening the cones resolve it.

Nope' date=' tried a mates wheel Same problem

Unless you both have faulty wheels, then maybe my fork question has some merit. Check your fork with the wheel removed for any strange movements.
