Since my 9 year old has taken to BMX, I want to create a mini BMC track on my plot. Looking for all the advice I can get at the moment.

Previously, I did build a MTB route (about 4 km's) on the plot, but due to it not being used weekly, it has not worked out. I want to incorporate some of the MTB layout in the new BMX track.

The area that I have available is in the form of a triangle, with the longest side about 80m long. The land is flat, and the soil is a dark brown clay.

I was thinking of creating a couple of jumps and then over time extend the track. I do not have a lot of money to spend on the project, but want to see how far I can get.

Why not start off with a pump track? You can create a basic figure-8 type track to start with, then expand it with lines flowing over and branching off.

In the long run It was for my own best that I had to build all my own ramps at 13 cause when i was 18 I crashed and broke my back, If I had not been building for the last 5 years at that stage I might have been paralised. Thats what the doc said.

So anyway.. Build him some tabletops BBi, and burms and Yes like Hog sais, a pump section is so Important, Its a lost art and If he can master that early he wil reap rewards forever or until he dies(whichever comes first)

Make it flowing and dont worry about making it to wide(it uses a lot of soil) I see you have some junk to use as fillers.

Man I wish I had this in Capetown. I tel you its as much fun as a boy can have. And might just keep him out of trouble while all his buddys are out smoking and drinking oneday.
