Some people just do some weird things!!! - i dont think it has anything to do with a wanking triangle or whatever. That back wheel is a red herring.

That whooosh sound overhead is the sound of brilliance passing by you, completely unnoticed. It is nutty professors like this who inspire people and make subjects accessible.
