I picked up a 53cm steel framed bike yesterday. Its called a "Corrado". Clearly it is an Italian Bike. Columbus Tubing, with section chromed chain stay and chromed fork and crown. Lugs are detailed with cut out hearts but not as detailed as other more prestigious Italian grands. Typical front derailer bracket but only a push-in gear cable plastic insert on the bottom of a very ordinary BB. Bike is medium blue and white and the decals are stickers! Components are full set Shimano 105, 14 speed, Selle Royal, ITM handlebar 38cm and Galli Rims with 20C conti slicks.

But, what the blazes is a "corrado"? who made it? and why is there no info on this make? and what is it really worth???

Sheldon Brown does not know about it and Google hit a blank? Sure you spelt it correctly?

I also have an "orphan" frame - called a "Bachi". Not Italian, possibly jap or taiwanese? Cant find any info on it, but what a nice frame! Big bike, bit heavy but a real joy to ride. Worth only the components I suspect....

I think that we would all be surprised to know exactly who actually gets their frames from China and Taiwan. I suspect that my Bachi is from Taiwan. Nothing wrong with Taiwan in general.

I totally agree Dollar. I know that 97% of the world markets frames come from the east. If you take a look on the Corrado website you will see they introduced carbon frames for 2009. Those are from open moulds from the east. So yeah i agree nothing wrong with bikes from China or Tiawan etc

Just because it has Columbus tubing doesn't mean its Italian. Columbus sell tubes to anyone and even some local SA guys used to build frames with Columbus tubing.

The "corrado" decal on the head post states: 'made in Italy' and the lettering corrado is on the background of a 'dragged' Italian flag.

I will get some pictures up soon.
