Post from Team Manager on skype."juniors make even more history.  team of eight currently in Spain at Vuelta al Besaya, a UCI 2.1 tour.  Rode very aggressive and took all 3 podium positions including the KOM jersey. Team manager Austin said - they caught them off guard and a move went clear early - they bunch relaxed as they knew the climb towards the end will still sort things out - but player right into our hands.

Top 3 - in a jnr ranked tour is not too shabby at all.

1st Johann van Zyl, 2nd Christopher Jennings, 3rd Shaun-Nick Bester and Jennings in the KOM jersey. "

Looks like some nice time gaps. Van Zyl 44 seconds ahead of 4th place on GC if I read the results right. Are there any time trials in this tour? Battling a bit with my internet connection, so couldn't manage to get on to the UCI calender to check the stages.

Well - another motivation behind it all seems to be that the organizers use the same podium girls as in the Vuelta Espana :)

OUCH..It is obvious from stage 2 results that the Spanish riders did not take kindly to the SA riders dominating in the first stage....

It looks like a slaughterhouse out there, exept fot Shawn-Nick Bester who survived the mayhem.

You go boytjie!!!Clap

Disaster strikes in Stage 2 as 3 of the SA riders picked up a stomach bug during the night and to make matters worse they were also involved in a fall. As Johann states:"From Yellow to Zero".

Hope that they recovered enough to defend the Yellow yersey Shawn-Nick Bester today.
