EdGe Posted June 20, 2009 Share A top news item on THe Hub: the UCI has released broadcast figures for the World Cup events held in Pietermaritzburg. The number of hours aired around the world, on the internet, is pretty much par for the course. What gets to me is that SuperSport only aired a couple of events... European TV channels broadcasted the event LIVE. Surely SuperSport could have done a bit more work to support a international event held locally? Although cycling is not a 'major' sport (eg. soccer,rugby,cricket), there are many many people who participate and who would watch the event live, or a proper re-run.
