Well I'm seeing a massive boom on commuters here in the Helderberg. Feel sorry for local guys needing cheap transport as the bikes are getting expensive and cost more than there average salaries ~ R2500

you can't blame that all on profiteering. a while back, i posted a reuters feature about the boom in the industry, which focused on the giant company. although they were enjoying the increase in demand, the increases in the price of steel were keeping the margins down.

At least then it would seem that Giant understand about dropping their margins to gain/maintain market share.

My comment was more lined up at human nature that says in the main we are greedy. I know this is a generalisation, so forgive me my cynicism.

By the way, ever heard the quote "all generalisations are false"?

HR, you always come up with the most informative posts.

giant are one of the companies that can afford to, having a decent segment of the asian markets they service, as well as having decent representation in others.

ps, thanks, it's the one boon of reading for a living.
