But i have a problem, the tubes on my MTB uses the same valve as those used on the racing bike. I cant take out the valve to inject the slime into my tubes, what should i do?
crasher Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Those are presta valves and probably solid onesJust check them carefully to see as with some you can unscrew them if you look carefully to see if they are 2 piece but you will prob see the valve stem is a solid moulding so you wont be to add slime to those tubes. I had the same problem so I bought 2 new presta slime tubes (these have the slime already added) and used my 2 original tubes as my carry spares They will cost you in the region of about 85 rand each its far easier than trying to find tubes with 2 piece presta valves then buying the slime then trying to get it into that tiny valve

Right take a pair of pliars....1 Take off the little rounded piece off the valve ie you unscrew it to pump up your tyres.... 2 Now grab the little piece that is loose in the valve, as it can fall down the valve 3 Be carefull and catch it through the tube, its long so shouldn`t fall out completely and get lost inside the tube. So pinch it through the tube 4 Pump in your Slime 5 Slide thingie back into valve 6 Screw round thing back on 7 All done and BOB is your uncle.... Now go play and practice

But to make complicated things easy i quickly grabbed Mr. Bosch .... .... and converted my presta to a fat one. Within few mins my slime was in and ready to go.
