It happens to Vodacom as well. Looks one must maar be stuck with Vodacom or MTN as if you go with Cell C you will see for yourself. Cell C just phoned again to give me a contranc and I gave them gears.

My wife and son  have both been experiencing difficulty in making calls from their MTN phones. When they try to dial a number "call not allowed" is displayed on the phone. Phoned them (MTN) on Saturday and they said that there are problems with the network in certain areas. I told them if you have to try and dial the same number 6 to 7 times before it goes through it becomes a bit anoying. They apologised and said they are working on the problem. Blah, blah, blah....
