How does one remove said cranks?

The Stylo's are easy, they have self-extracting bolts, but the RaceFace I can't figure out - there is the dust cap that one unscrew easy, but then nothing, and on the other side just the gaping hole like the crank is laughing at you.

Any help?

to put back, remove dust cap, turn inner bolt in, then lock with dust cap - put fresh loctite on the dust cap - those things unscrew themselves and cost over 100 bucks each

loosen the dust cap, but don't remove it. Make sure it's on by a few threads. Then unscrew the second bolt. It'll pull the crank off cause it butts up against the dust cap.

there should be an  cap that is a lefthand thread and uses a 10mm allen key a 8mm allenkey bolt that loosens the crank. if its an x type BB only loosen the 8mm bolt and make sure the 10mm

Unfortunately had the same issue the other day...ended up getting a new cap...I know the guys from race face have tons, cos we aren't the only ones this has happened to!  Tried a standard crank extractor...that doesn't work either.  Best to ask around at shops for the caps...got mine for R50.

edited my post earlier, but try this anyway. see if a 10c piece will fit on the rim of the bb bit you can see, this will stop the end of the crank tool going into the aperture. and remove normally. did this with a 105 crank the the other day. worked a charm. if it doesn't i'm a doofus, which bigh will tell you, i am   smiley9.gif holy roller2009-07-31 00:05:38

I dont think a crank puller will work, the dust cape thread is quite big. You really need the dust cap to pull it off. I have managed to get it off with out one...but I seriously don't recommend it.

Hammer!
