  1. Post it directly to polar. They are in half way house, JHB. Intelligent Health and Fitness Products, tel: 011 805 1028. It'll take them a day or so to sort it out, plus shipping either side, you're looking at about a week.
  2. Yeah, there's no blood flow to ligaments so they can take up to 3 months to heal, depending of course on how bad it is. If there's any swelling in the area use an ice pack. If you need relief a hot pack works a treat. Light stretching will help as well. Other than that give it time to heal.
  3. Sounds like a strained ligaments on the collar bone. Typically hurts when arm is raised sideways around or above shoulder height. Lots of ice and hot packs.
  4. I used DB Schenker last year, using them again this year. R375 return. Quite a painless process, pack your own bike and drop it off the Wednesday before the race and repeat on Monday after the race. Contact csd@schenker.co.za for more details.
  5. Wow, you did got off lightly. I could not lift my hand from my side and put it on the desk in front of me. Maybe start with a few rides on rollers and see if that's ok. Vibration is a killer.
  6. I did the same last year. I snapped all the ligaments holding the collar bone to the shoulder. You're lucky to have movement, I had none. I had to have a plate installed for a couple of months to allow the ligaments to heal. You can see pics in My link if you wish. It took about 4 months to heal, and about 6 months to regain my full fitness. It did not stop me in the slightest, I did Gabran on the back of a tandem 4 weeks after. Swimming was the worst, I did a lot of kicking. I used to ride with a old tube over my good shoulder. So that when the arm got tired, I could put it in a sling and rest it. Good luck, and enjoy the time off.
  7. The easist method is just get clip on aero bars. Get a forward facing steat post as well. This way if you do a road race, it's a quick conversion back to road spec. The other alternative is to remove your bars and sti's and add base bar, aero bars, brakes levers and TT shifters.
  8. Yip, got the mail this morning, reseeding cost is R150 bucks.
  9. very very nice, all you have to do now is get on and ride.
  10. Always had excellent service with polar. I ship my stuff up, they check it out and replace free of charge, regardless of how old it is and ship it back to me at their cost. As for the post office, they will deliver, but it will be a couple of days late.
  11. Met Dave at GABRAN, sad to hear he has passed. My condolences to the family.
  12. loosen the dust cap, but don't remove it. Make sure it's on by a few threads. Then unscrew the second bolt. It'll pull the crank off cause it butts up against the dust cap.
  13. Went for surgery today, doc says the holes from the screws will close in 6 to 8 weeks. Even though I'm pretty zonked on drugs it feels much better. Here's the plate
  14. 98.4kph Road bike - can't remember where 84kph MTB on road with knobbles
