Its called spoke twisting. Do a google search on it

Apparently it weakens the wheel considerably, and I'm sure JB will tell us the same. But like you say, it does look good, and will certainly make the bike stand out!

Weaker? back inthe the day when they twisted spokes it apparantly made the wheel stronger. But like you said JB will know the answer.One thing I don know is He will have something to say about the angle the spoke goes into the rim. I thing the Idea behind the twisted spokes were so that they don't move when the wheel flex. .  some people tie the spokes together where they cross as well. . . thats what ive seen and heard

The spoking pattern is traditionally known as "Hybrid Crow's Foot" lacing and is of no use to man or beast! Blingers, maybe but then don't ride it around corners too hard........
