140mm caliper mount....

I'm putting a 140mm caliper on the back of my bike but Coolheat does not have any. I had a look on CRC and saw that they've got a Tektro one that is either 160 for the front or if used on the back is 140mm. I have a 160 IS to post front one so will it work? I do not have the disc yet as it is in the mail so I can not measure anything.

This is what the Tektro one looks like.

AFAIK, any 160mm front caliper adapter will be the equivalent of a 140mm when on the back.

Try get hold of Omnico, they're the agents for Tektro if you want to get that adapter. or ask your LBS to order that one

And it works 110%. Now I want to know two things. 1. Why did the shop not tell me this and 2. why did Shimano not tell the shop?

sorry for the quality but it's with the cell phone at 5:30 this morning. And yes I know I need to move the skewer handle to a "safer" position.

Shimano didn't tell the shop 'cos the shop *should* already know. I do, and I'm not a mechanic.

The bike shop didn't tell you because they either didn't know or they were trying to sell you something you didn't need. Not sure which is worse...
