Air Loss

Roons

Recommended Posts

I am currently running on tubeless on my bike - but I am battling to maintain pressure on my front tyre. I have replaced the tubeless valve inner and it is still losing air. I have checked the slime and there appears to be enough. Could it possibly be that the rim on the bike is skew and the tube is not seating correctly.

At this stage I cannot do a ride longer than 2hrs before the pressure is pap.

Any suggestions?

Is the tyres wire bead or foldable? If wirebead then see if the wire is not bend somewhere.

Folding Spez Tyre being used. Running with Joes.

I think I will do BB's option and get the tyre into the pool.

Works for me everytime, sometimes it is just a spot where the joe's isn't reaching specially on the bead ..... Once identified you can easily pump the tyre hard and direct the joe's to that spot.

I did once though have an issue that the valve was busy 'tearing' out of the rim strip and had to replace it .... went ghetto after that!

sorry to have to be the "one" Big%20smile

seriously guys.... I can ride longer than 2 hours without losing pressure, I don't have stans spraying up into my face evertime I hit a root and if I do puncture (which is seldom) I don't have to try to locate the problem, I just whip out another tube and 5 minutes later I'm riding again.... but that's just me... (or maybe it's me and Scotty LOL)

I'm also a proud "Yes! tubes" man but he did not ask that. It does sound like more hassles then what it is worth.

This is now where the whole pros vs cons debate is gonna start again.

You know you are the 'one'! Wink

Seriously girls... Rode the Epic without loosing any air - and that was a tad longer than 2-hrs. Horses for courses.

Now back to my problem... Off to the pool tonight and I will report back tomorrow.  Might include pic of couch if you lucky!

Roons there is a batch of specialized tires called The captain that leakes through the sidewalls because the rubber is quite porous

the only way to fix this is to put a $h!t load of stans joes or whatever tickles your fancy till the tire is sealed by the joes this could take very long

or you could always go buy new tires which has happened to a few people i know!!
