Was thinking about the tip of week-about putting fishing line between your fork above our tire to take out small stones and glass to prevent punctures...

quite creative but maybe bit risky.

what your thoughts - anyone ever tried this?

You could buy a "scraper" that mounted on your brake bolt. The idea was the same. I think this will work. Not sure how long the fishing line will last and how you are going to tension it. I am sure the knots or whatever you use to fix it will break if the line catches the tire so I see no real risk in this.

way back when i was still a capie, i had a friend who rode with a piece of rope - could have been fishing line. it was a roadbike, i wouldn't try (nor need) this on an MTB - he rode with it all year, dont know if he ever needed to replace the line

Hagar maybe you know the guy? Joe - can't remember the surname - from Vredenburg, he was a runner crossing over to cycling ... got diagnosed with cancer and ran marathons between the chemo-sessions, such a gentle and strong guy

If something is in my tyre and it's not leaking, or leaking slowly, I would rather keep it there until I'm done with my ride.
