I'm tired of getting punctures despite using tyre liners & sludge.

What are the most puncture resistant tyres for road bikes?

I currently have Continental Ultra Sports which I've only used for just over 1,150kms but have recently had a series of punctures which is really spoiling my fun on the road.

Also would like to establish is one is more suseptible to punctures if one's tyres are inflated to a higher or lower pressure????

In my experience Conti Ultra Sports are very soft, and not very puncture resistant. They're a good choice for a value-added item on most entry level road bikes though. Tyre liners also seem to be more hassle than they're worth. Conti Gatorskins, or similar puncture resistant specific tyres, inflated to near max pressure, are the answer. No solution is going to be "puncture proof" though. Also, try not riding on the extreme left of the road shoulder if you can help it, as this is where all the puncture causing crud accumulates.

The best method is not to ride over sharp objects. ALL tyres will get punctures. Just because you are lucky does not make one tyre better then another. I got two punctures in two consecutive weekends. I thought my tyres was crap. But it's been 10 weeks without so I guess I now should think I've got excellent tyres.
