hi there, being the newby in the gym, and doing surious weight los,,, how many calories burn would qualify as a good "weight loss" workout??? your help/info will be appreciated!Smile

There is to many variables invlolved to give any answer. How many calories do you consume? How does your body react to the training? And no piece of equipment can give you an accurate calorie "burning" reading...its all BS.

Stop worrying about calories burnt. Eat balanced....do your thing in the gym and check your progress. Get someone in the gym to help you monitoring your progress.

One hundred gazillion (said with pinky finger in corner of mouth) is a good number. If you got a heartrate monitor train at 65% and try do about 750 -1000 every weekday. That will help burn your blubbery ass off. If you do weights it apparently burns calories for longer after you stop. Try do at least 3000-4000 on the weekend. You don't mention if you wanna drop weight or just fat though. My suggestion, PM "gnarly" and ask him how he went from a 135kg jabba the hut to a 89kg climbing machine.
