Could be, the duel sus being a smoother ride which might've given Burry more speed on the down hills, but I wouldn't know if the Orbea is a lighter bike or not for the up hills

No. Look at the other world cup races Absalon rode away from them all most of the time. I would wonder if Burry and CS had a choice re the DS or HT? Keep in mind Absalon has already won the title (World cup series) so the motivational pressure was less. Also these guys are playing around with dual chain rings x10 speed and maybe Absalon had the wrong gearing and his legs blew on the last lap as he first had to catch up and pass the leaders, then try and hold of a charging BS and Fluckiger brothers.
