Its just a rotor afterall most rotors being the correct size will work with most brakes. Its only special ones like XTR with Avids or Hope floating discs as far as I know

Mechanically, there is not much between them, hence me thinking they the same. Avid however, never suggests cross compatibility betwee the Juicys and Codes on the one hand, and the Elixirs on the other. The former is always paired with G2s, whereas the latter comes with G3s. I've used G3s with my Juicys, with no issue until I experienced unusual amounts of brake fade with still nearly brand new pads. The rotor was also nearly brand new.
Capricorn Posted September 13, 2009 Author Posted September 13, 2009 just measured a G3 and G2 185mm rotor, and both come in around 1.7 - 1.9mm thickness. So mechanically, nearly identical. Thanks for the input rad006.
