Amandel Rd, Kuilsriver

I'm doing a bit of running at the moment, trying to get into shape for my first marathon, this means a bit more time on the legs and possibly looking at us cyclist from a different point of view.

 

So Satuday morning, around 7ish I'm jogging down Amandel Rd in Kuilsriver, reasonably well know to the people of the Northern Suburbs as it gives you access to Polkadraai.  Very nice cool morning, but also quite misty.  I saw a group of around 8 cyclist approaching and couldn't believe that they were riding in 4 rows of 2 next to each other and that in a place where the is barely space for one car as well as a middelmanntjie, so the car has nowhere to go, didn't say anything as I didn't want to spoil the day for all of us, for interes sake I looked back at them only to see that in the misty condition they did not even have lights at the back.

 

I just fail to understand why we always bitch and moan about the cars but still put ourselves in such a position.

Yip. This happens every weekend. Doesn't make sense...road cycling I mean!

 

 

 

Just joking. Yeah, it's bad. That whole road from the circle to Bottelary road is very narrow and passing a cyclist with a car coming from the front is a close call. Two abreast doesn't make sense at all, but the guys just doesn't care.

I fail to understand it as well.

 

Their own safety is not a concern to them - maybe we should start a fund in benefit of buying these simple simons some IQ ....
