BB Advice needed

Wannabe

Recommended Posts

I need to replace the BB on my Dacordi Mitico, but has trouble locating the correct BB.

Took it out and found the following info.

Sealed Shimano BB, marked BB 6500

Crankset Ultegra 9spd with splines, hollow crank.

On BB marked 109.5mm (obviously the length of cage

On BB cups, 36x24T (surely refers to diameter and thread)

That is all I could get from BB

Shops want to know if it is English or British thread. Surely it can be ascertained from info given. Logic tells me it SHOULD be a Italian, as it is an Italian frame. How can I be sure what BB I should order, as I must shop around for the best price!!??

Crux, what logic tells me too, but what make you certain about it. What part of the info I supplied tells you it is Italian.

Want to know, so I can give the salespersons at Bikeshops hell.

You tighten a British BB anti-clock wise, and a Italian clock-wise.smileys/smiley4.gif
