Any recommendations on Lights that work that is not very expensive. And Price if you have.

Doing some night racing and maybe the Telkom Night ride. I got one of the cheap Giant lights and doesn't do much, trail is barely visable. Would like to see where I'm going.

For me the best 3 cheap lights are rav X 3 x optibar , plus minus 250 bucks

then the princeton teck rebel eos 4mode, 500odd bucks

then the BLT fire wire 4.0   , going for around 900 bucks

Spending more than 1000 bucks on lights is really senseless I ride 60km/ hour using only lights that put out around 200 Lux

Dude, for under 3K, Blackburn System X8's all the way!!

Double light set, handlebars mounts plus 1 x helmet mount. Great compact Lithium Ion battery (not heavy) which gives great burn time!

You won't be sorry. Oh.... don't be surprised if people mistake you for riding a motorbike towards them because the LED's give off true white light Thumbs%20Up

How far do they throw a spot? If it is less than 70 meters then it's only suitable for trail riding.

The Light and Motion lights are really expensive, but you get the best light on the market.

Motorists have flashed me, asking for dim..

70 meters is a fair distance! I wouldnt say that far, but whats nice is the wide beam illuminates the sides of the trails and probably around 8 meters.

The spot has awesome distance which I set at 8 meters, so the beam patterns overlap ever so slightly. I would guess total distance somewhere around 40 meters which is more than enough.

I suppose if I changed the spotlights' angle on the handlebars I could achieve greater distance but I wish to see things clearly in a closer proximity.

"Not to my knowledge, but have a look at www.bikerader.com their website covers almost anything, there should be a write up on this light. "

Email notification that the hub sent to me.... interesting... smiley22.gif

Bikerader.com is one of those heathenous sites that contain absolutely nothing but links to other sites that you don't want to visit.
