Diet, endurance and weight loss

Oops sorry  I meant cutting down from 2 - 3 Litre per day to 1 or 2 pints per day. a pint or 2 per week anit gonna do you no harm.

I did the same when I was on it. They should give better eating plans for endurance athletes as should someone try and stick to it 100% they will end up with health problems. I lost 13 kgs on Sureslim in a very short time but I still don't think it is a good option for a long-term eating plan. It is also very expensive once you pass a certain number of weeks. Weighless is a far better option as it is more balanced.

 

 

I'm having great success with Weighless - seems to work well with cycling.  Now since 94.7 I've lost focus...NEED to find focus and stick to the plan 100%...EmbarrassedLOL  - hoping to lose 10kg's by the Fast One.

Why are all diet products so expensive?

 

Squeezy isnt cheap at all.

 

If we weren't so obsessed about our weight and how we look, these stuff would be cheap.  We are creating a market for these products and the people manifacturing and selling it is rolling in the $$$$.

 

My 2c...  If you are an average guy/girl that's doing cycling to stay relatively healthy and enjoying the outdoors (i.e. you are not the professional riders that are getting paid to do it), a moderate diet with nothing excessive (yes, that goes for alcohol as well) then you will be fine.  Too be FAT is not good for the heart and all that goes with it, but to be fit and slightly over-weight is better than to be skinny and unfit.

Let me tell you this: It's not the diet that made you lose weight, it's most probably the training that did it. Don't get me wrong, diet plays a very important role. But all things being equal, the more you excercise the more cal/kj you will burn, the more weight you'll lose. If I were to continue eating like I do now, but increase the frequency and intensity of my training I will lose weight.

 

Another point to consider is that endurance training will not necessarily cause you to lose more weight. Endurance training is about training your body to conserve energy for long periods of time. This is the opposite of what you should be trying to do. Short high intensity training is sometimes better for training to lose weight. You see many overweight people running comrades and cycling the argus every year. That is because they have trained there bodies to conserve the energy, and not use the energy for fuel. If you compare a top endurance athlete with a top sprinter, the sprinter has the best muscle to weight ratio. Long distance and endurance training will cause you to lose weight, but it is the fat that you want to burn and not the muscle.
