[/quote'] Best I can say is go and work in a bike shop on weekends, you'll get decent discount on parts that way... it's how I managed to keep my bike on the road when I was at school. I already have a weekend job, but I'm studying medicine, so my monday morning tests kind of kill my weekends anyway. Bicycle shops routinely replace cassettes when it is not neccessary and throw away perfectly good ones. You'll find nice tyres and tubes there as well. All my tyres come from there.
