They wouldnt have made it past round 1 in anycase. So the ref just spared you the extra heart ache.

Are we playing in it aswell? I thought we're only hosting it.

We drew against the bobsleigh team earlier this week. We are well on our way to winning!

My beloved Republic of Ireland were robbed last night of a place in the 2010 World Cup by a dumbass refereeAngryAngry

Thiery Henry handleled the ball twice before passing onto Gallas who scored the equaliser in the 104th minute of the game. The final whistle went 2 minutes later and sent my lads packing!!

Thiery Henry admitted to handlling the ball twice' date=' he then said "It is not my responsibility to ref the game" I do agree with him, I always say play to the whistle, the ref was right there.

It amazes me how one dumbass can have an impact on a nation who has played their hearts out to get to SA in 2010.

Now who the hell am I going to suip Guiness withAngry

"Ireland, Ireland together standing tall!!!!"

"Shoulder to shoulder, we will answer Irelands call"

While what TH did should've been seen by the ref, and ended up changing the game. Anelka should've had a penalty a LOT earlier than that when Mr Given took him down in the box. Say what you may, but there was contact and that was easily a penalty. So in the end justice is somewhat done.

All that said, it's still a *** way to go out. :(

Given would of saved the peanut, he is probably the top keeper in Europe at the moment, but alas.

Mackiemoo,

As a fellow Irishman, I'm gutted. But to be honest we should of put the game away earlier.... for instance who would've bet against Keane scoring in a one on one with the goal keeper, he scores those goals week in and week out in the premiership. Better team against the Italians, better team against the French it's fricking tragic

Hey Mackie - sorry for you, bleedin frenchies.

Did they also sabotage/stuff-up your anthem with some stoned Rasta What is your anthem by the way?

Otherwise 1990, werent there as many Irishmen in the team as there are Englishmen in today's cricket team?  Vinnie Jones qualified as Irish as his gran once went there.

Back to 2010 and the bright side is that there'll be a serious influx of french babes come July (not that your lot are not worth looking at).
