Umhlanga Morning Rides

Are any Hubbers doing the 5am rides from that small onramp/offramp in Umhlanga this December?

I am going do them and thought it would be nice to know if ant Hubbers also ride.

I'm very keen - will be there between 18 and 24 December.  Who/which club organises it?  Is it every day?  How fast is it?

Excellent. It is a very loose arrangement. I was introduced to them by an Italian rider who stays in the same building as us there. He rides them with Mark Beneke. It is everyday at about 5am. Whoever is there rides. Usually to Ballito and back. Roughly 70km-80km and about 3 hours if I remember correctly. I didn't take my bike down last year so didn't ride. Start at that offramp on the Ballito side of the main Umhlanga/Lighthouse Drive on/off-ramps. You can PM me your number and I can let you know more once I get down there on Wednesday.

Good stuff - had my bike last year, but no-one to ride with.  Riding down from Johannesbog on Sunday and will be in Umhlanga on Wed - will need to take a day or two off but will be up again on Friday/Saturday.

Sounds great! I want to do that sometime! I have been going there since I was a little Andy and know the area well. So even if those groups aren't riding we could still meet up for some rides.

Dont just ride to Ballito and back. There is some great rides inland as well. Nice climbs. Here I am thinking of Whe Whe( not sure anout spelling).

Last time I road with them the route did vary a bit and we did a few rides more inland as well.
