there are some nice places you can ride. If you go to the right places then you won't have a problem. We went for a ride yesterday and not once i felt afraid to be alone in the forest.

There are plenty of nice places to ride on and off road. Bring your bike definately. Pop in to the bike shops and ask for the directions to various routes. The road riding is fairly safe(crime and traffic), offroad maybe better not alone, but you will love some of our riding terrain!Bike shop on the William Moffet expressway very helpfull.

I'm also off to PE... when are you going to be there?

I'm still getting bike fit again, babies tend to limit bike time... but perhaps we can ride somewhere?

Let us know when you are going to be in PE. I will happily take you out on a few MTB routes in the area.

Where are you going to be staying?

So here is a list of options that I know about... http://www.easterncapemountainbiking.co.za/index.php?page_name=region&region_id=7

I'll be staying in Seaview... I actually come from PE so know the town well... just didnt have a mtb until I moved to CT.

PM me your contact details and I will keep you in the loop of all the MTB rides.

I am going to be in the Baviaans from the 23rd to the 27th but after I will be cycling everyday.

I was looking at going up on the 24th till Sunday. Short visit. Mommy said she wants to go earlier as she is also on leave. Will be great though to ride with someone. I have done the PE Herald a few times but cant remeber the whole route. Any route will do

If you're in PE, don't under-estimate the Baakens Valley which runs right through the centre of the city for some nice, easily accessible MTB riding.

Here's one of my rides there, but there are loads of intersecting trails you can follow:

Your best bet is to pop into Cyclo Pro on the William Moffet Expressway & chat to Rob or Julie.

The trails run right past the shop, so they will be able to point you in the right direction.

When I am back in PE on the 27th I will be riding there most days, so let me know if anyone is keen to join me for a ride - especially a night ride!!

If you don't have a light, let me know, I should be able to hook you up with a set of Magiclights to use.

We did the course they did for the longmore forest race. We just parked our car at the start of the dirt road. There is a ACSV campsite there and the gentlmen said that he does not mind us parking there as long as we leave the place as we found it. Was just very very hot out there.

Anybody?

Sorry man, if I was gonna be in town during that time I would definitely arrange a few group rides.

You can check out the Fat Tracks MTB Club web site and put yourself on our Outrides mailing list. Hopefully some of the other PE MTBers will be riding and making use of the mailing list to post when they go riding.

I think there are two or three threads covering this already, so go and hunt them down and give us a call when you get here and we (Dirty Twin and I) can take you anytime. Big%20smile
