  1. the OT in Cape Town came highly recommended. I asked him afterwards if I need to do exercises and he said it wasn't required as I has standard surgery. He said as long as I slowly get back to doing what I used to , then that's fine. however I checked up on internet and got a few hand exercises which I do. my frustration is trying to get back to doing what I used to but I was told it takes time. ( im 45years young)
  2. thanks. never thought of the brace though. my pain is gone. like as in overnight . but its tender around the wrist and I cant for example do a push up on my hand. then its way to sore. everything was checked for other problems, injuries etc and that was ruled out. I haven't touched my bike since the Argus ( nothing to do with hand) and that was due to my work environment changing ( travelled 4 days out of every week) , moved house/bought house and now the op. so I have basically been off the bike for months. I can say however that I can mow the grass, drill holes into concrete walls with no troubles, so that's a positive.
  3. there is no known cause directly. typists, pregnant women, people that use there hands a lot etc. in my case I have always used my hands around the house ie building, mowing grass etc and cycling close on 29 years now. can be anything.
  4. I never got any pins and needles but what I did get was horrible pains early hours in the morning and I would wake up on the hour. this went on for 6 months and after swallowing high schedule tabs that didn't work I had to make a plan. even went to a physio thinking it was from my neck. eventually I had all the test done ( shock treatment and sticking needles into each hand ) which confirmed nerve damage.
  5. I know every one is different and recovers differently to others , but for those that have had this op, did you fully recover to get back on your bike and go ride/race road and offroad? And how long is long? I have had my one hand done 2 months ago and cant yet hold my mtb grip. Frustration level is through the roof and so is my weight. and the sad news is I have to have my other hand done next month. Any advice and please let me know what other sports you did in the interim. thanks
  6. if you happy to part with your goods that's your problem. don't make it ours. we know what we have to do
  7. the law requires you to conceal it wherever you wish to carry it on your body. you wont be upping the violence of crime if you remove the threat the first time...use it lose it
  8. Now you talking !! bet if you had your firearm with you and presented it when he got out, the taxi driver would have had a different approach of respect. yes pick your fights but stop been a wimp and get trod on. you have as much right on the rode as the next...until you behave like a taxi driver.
  9. wheres your fan? otherwise you going too cook
  10. and all I wanted to know was where to put my holster.....so glad I didn't ask whether to use hollow points or FMJ....
  11. no incident is the same as any. the situation depicts what action and level of self defence is required. No I may not shoot him in the back but I am allowed to shoot him from getting away. on paper it may be the municipality and police job to ensure our safety , and on paper that's it.
  12. and all I ask was about a holster......
  13. Booswig -- you make fair comment. thanks bud.
  14. thanks mate, already do have a licence. I have had this firearm for years and its a beaut. unfortauniltly I can do nothing about the size ( Norinco)
  15. by the way, we went off topic here. all I wanted and still want is some advice on where and how to carry a holster for my firearm. hiding bodies, how many bullets one must shoot into the attackers head, im not interested in
  16. no offence taken, but we can deny it or look the other way- its going to happen whether you like it or not. and for the record should our paths every meet and you in danger, I will protect you as my fellow cyclist , whether you like firearms or not.
  17. Dogmatix - you are correct. like you said you wont see it but im not worried about that. its what happens now. no incident is the same and as much as we all say "it will never happen to me"...its when it does and what you are going to do about it. like I said earlier on, all to there own. I love my bike like I love my loved ones. its not negotionable. one must be a fool if they think the government or police is going to help you.
  18. I don't think that's going to work with me. I normally use a wide leather belt with holster but its uncomfortable plus a tad heavy. all I need is for it to fall out and euthanize some poor gun free sa soul. I was thinking more on the lines what the cash and carry security guys use where its mounted on there chest( minus bullet proof vest)
  19. im not hanging around to prove anything. picking up my bike and carrying on riding. oh and my doppies. ammo is expensive.
  20. do you put it in your jersey or underneath? I know where that shop is. thanks. and I do have a legal license, so no problems there.
  21. this is for people that own firearms and are willing to use it - where would you suggest is the best place on your body to carry a firearm in a holster( 45) and where in CT is the best place to go buy one. This is my choice and those that want to badmouth me, all to there own. The buggers want your bike, not you. I am entitled to defend myself and my property within the law and I intend doing that.
  22. Welcome to SA. While you renting a bike, dont forget to rent a firearm, flack jacket and swallow a gps so in the event you taken out somewhere, well find you. Eventually. otherwise great trails to ride on. Enjoy
  23. should have PK him here and then. You should know nothing will progress from this, so make it worth your while
