CSC interested in Di Luca

Danilo Di Luca is the happy winner of the Giro d'Italia, but his contract with Team Liquigas runs out at the end of this season. He has indicated that he would like to stay with the Italian outfit, but that won't stop other teams from expressing their interest as well.

Team CSC is one of them, even though they just won second place in the Giro with young Andy Schleck. Wieleruitslagen.be wrote that Bjarne Riis is aware of Schleck's potential as a future superstar but he needs someone for immediate successes.

The Belgian website reported that the Dane has allegedly offered "the Killer" two million euros to join his team next year.

I would be very wary of paying big money for a few of the Giro success stories.  Di Luca and Mazzoleni may still be "officially" included in investigations into sports doping based on a few phone call taps.  Riis does not need any more scandal if he is to keep onto his CSC sponsorship.

I am not sure why he (Bjarne) would do this when his sponsors are starting to abandon his team?

Maybe he knows something we don't!

Hmm, seems odd I agree Shaunh, but, I doubt Di Luca would go anyway, and I cant see Liquigas not renewing his contract , he is a big name in the  team, which has a strong sponsor with serious ties to the Giro and Italian cycling in general, actually everything Di Luca aspires to in his career, where as there are already too many  "hens in the coop" at CSC  and I dont think he would slot in.
