The carbon seatpost (deda ultra) is about 120g heavier than the kcnc scandium but does it provide more road dampening ?

Need help asap as i am ordering a seatpost today.

its alu wrapped carbon. weighs in at 260grams. Scandium is about 140grams. I am no weight weenie but definately want more comfort on the long rides.

Then it is just like a normal alu post with a carbon "sticker" around to make you pay more. I've actually never heard people buying seatposts to dampen road buzz.

If it was me, i would be putting a full carbon post into an alu / Scandium frame, and an alu / Scandium post into a full carbon frame. Ive got both, and believe me you can feel a significant difference in the vibrations with you swap between a full carbon post and an alu post in an alu / Scandium frame.

I would say it the carbon would absorb more buzz then the metal one.

Definitely. The difference in vibration that I can feel between my Thompson Elite and my Easton EC90 seatposts is significant. Wink
