The reason they are such good deals, is that they are actually the 2008 model.

 

 

 

But they overbought stock and are battling to clear, so you pick up good deals.

 

 

 

I bought mine in November last year for 8k, so i am sure if you negotiate, you can get it for even less now that its 2010.

i would go for a second hand bike!

 

you can pick up some good deals

 

have a look out for felt/scott/merida

 

good value for money bikes

think a felt at R8k with 105 looks much better value...

although carbon is an advantage of the raleigh.

 

if you're in the east rand, Tony Impey stocks felt, raleigh and merida so you could do a nice comparison...

Yeah, When i was buying, i thought with the Raleigh, i can slowly upgrade spec, but at least with Tiagras and full carbon, it was a good place to start.

 

 

 

There are some advantages to 2nd hand, but i personally prefer starting with something new (especially carbon) and then slowly upgrading from there.

 

 

 

Each to their own though!
