Timing chips

Is it worth getting your own timing chips? if so which ones?  I will be doing as many MTB races I can this season and wondered if it would make life a bit easier

I got an email from MTNcycling this morning. Aparently there is this new thing where you get a number board for MTB races for life with a timing chip built in. You keep that for as long as your race.

I did a race a few weeks ago organised by ROAG, and at the registration we got our own timing chips and number boards for life. Best part was that it didnt cost us a cent

I read about that - I believe they are only organising races in KZN right now.  Hope they get to GP soon.  I joined the club for licensing.

The only MTB race i know in Gauteng done by ether Racetec or CC is the Crater Cruise and that is CC, most use SS or manual timekeeping.
